Tibetan Scientific Society is pleased to invite Tibetan science students in all scientific disciplines to participate in the 5th Tibetan Science Conclave. The aims and objectives of the Tibetan Science Conclave are:
- To provide a platform where Tibetans in scientific fields can interact and exchange ideas among each other and with the larger scientific community at both national and international levels.
- To explore, discuss and promote ancient Indian psychology and logic for the benefit of humanity.
- To encourage young Tibetan students to pursue exciting and innovative research careers in science.
- To discuss issues related to the development of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields in Tibetan society with an ultimate vision of a self-reliant Tibet.
The theme for the 5th Tibetan Science Conclave is "Science and Society". We recognize the fact that we cannot engage in public conversation of science without discussing the relation of science to human society, both in terms of applications as well as public understanding of science. We plan to bring in experts and scientists who work at the intersection of science and society, translating scientific knowledge to real world applications that seek to improve human welfare. Besides a number of exciting programs that will inspire and expose our participants to the real world of cutting edge science, we are dedicating a day exclusively to explore and discuss ways in which the methods of modern science can be effectively utilized to reap the benefits of ancient Indian/Buddhist psychology, epistemology and logic for humanity.
Financial support, including travel expenses and accommodation, to attend the conclave will be provided for the first forty selected registrants. A limited number of Tibetan school and monastic science students will be exclusively selected to participate in this conclave.
